Photosynthesis is an inclusive, accessible, creative studio here in Ōtautahi. Our aim is to enable and support visual artists with the tools and space they require to create high-quality art, affordably.

All levels of skill and experience are welcomed at Photosynthesis. People from all backgrounds can learn how to use equipment, and experiment affordably. This encourages diverse storytelling from everyone, no matter their situation.

Creating art comes with the need for professional-grade equipment, and studio space. Photosynthesis will provide this without the pressure for creatives to monetise their work. This will unlock artistic potential otherwise limited by finances.

With a focus on artist accessibility at its core, Photosynthesis is poised to be an integral move in the right direction for local, emergent artists. A space free of the restrictions larger creative studios may have, this community movement exists to see artist creativity grow here in Ōtautahi.
