Northcote Netball Centre

The Barfoot & Thompson Netball Centre offers a versatile collection of spaces available for community groups, creative workshops, training sessions, rehearsals, fitness classes, studio-style activities, sporting programmes and special events.

Conveniently located in Northcote, just minutes from Auckland's Northern Motorway, the venue provides excellent accessibility, ample on-site parking and disabled access throughout the facility.

Whether you're looking for a large open space for movement-based activities, a creative workshop venue, breakout rooms for community programmes, or indoor and outdoor courts for sport and recreation, our flexible spaces can be tailored to suit a wide range of requirements.

Gibson Room
Our largest and most adaptable indoor venue, the Gibson Room is ideal for community events, creative workshops, exhibitions, training programmes, performances, rehearsals and large group gatherings.

The space can accommodate up to 300 guests and features movable room dividers, allowing the room to be configured into smaller studio-style spaces or breakout areas. A commercial kitchen and catering services are available, along with an optional licensed bar for approved events.

Freeman Room
A bright and flexible space suited to community meetings, training sessions, workshops, classes and small group activities.
Located on the ground floor, the Freeman Room comfortably accommodates up to 70 people and works well for educational programmes, wellness sessions and collaborative gatherings.

Burgess Room
A dynamic and energetic space featuring unique lighting and direct access to the arena and outdoor courts.
Ideal for dance rehearsals, fitness classes, creative workshops, youth programmes, community events and interactive group activities, the Burgess Room accommodates up to 100 people and offers a vibrant atmosphere for a wide range of uses.

Peacock Room
Perfect for small group meetings, planning sessions, tutoring, interviews, creative collaboration or breakout activities.
This intimate space accommodates up to 16 people and can be hired independently or alongside larger venue bookings.

Indoor Arena
Our purpose-built indoor arena features two international-sized courts with a sprung wooden floor, making it suitable for sports training, dance rehearsals, fitness programmes, large-scale community events, exhibitions, performances and production rehearsals.

The flexible open-plan environment allows organisers to create bespoke layouts for both sporting and non-sporting activities.

Outdoor Courts
The venue also offers extensive outdoor facilities, including 19 rubberised netball courts and 13 tennis courts during the summer months. These spaces are ideal for sporting events, community festivals, fitness programmes, activations and large outdoor gatherings.

Edith Hopper Park, Manly
In addition to our Northcote facility, we offer a smaller community venue at Edith Hopper Park in Manly. Featuring outdoor courts and an indoor function space, it is well suited to children's parties, community activities, workshops and casual gatherings.
