The Rutherford’s Den Lecture Theatre is a completely restored, original lecture theatre from the 1870s and is available for hire.
The Victorian era lecture theatre is housed within Rutherford’s Den, a hands on science and history exhibition complete with exciting multi-sensory displays and hands-on experiences. Located in the beautifully restored heritage Arts Centre below the theatre is the den where Ernest, Lord Rutherford, the “father of nuclear physics”, studied.
With wooden bench seating, wood panelling, original windows and beautiful brickwork, it has a unique historic atmosphere.
