Christchurch Heritage Venue

Ferrymead Heritage Park was established in the late 1960's and was designed to depict what life was like over 100 years ago. The park is made up of many different societies who are dedicated to preserving Christchurch’s wonderful history. The park is open to the public 7 days a week from 10.00am to 4.30pm.

Heritage Chapel
Our beautiful chapel was built in 1911, as the original Ellesmere Methodist Church, and was relocated to Ferrymead in the 1970s.

The Church is ideal for weddings, church services and other ceremonies. It can seat up to 70 guests on pews, extra chairs may be added if required.

Tram
Our beautiful heritage wedding tram is a unique addition to any wedding and the perfect way to compliment your wedding day. The tram is also available to hire for birthdays and is a fun way to journey through the park.

Friendly Societies Lodge Hall
A relatively new building, designed and constructed in an authentic 1920s heritage style and decor. The wood panels and decor of the Lodge make it a great option for weddings, receptions and parties and includes the use of the area behind the Lodge, next to the ponds.

The Lodge Hall can cater for a wide range of functions with up to 95 guests for a seated meal, or up to 125 for a meeting or reception style function.

Heritage Railway Station
The Railway Station is ideal for groups of up to 50 seated in a meeting style. It is great for small meetings or functions with a difference.

The Station is located along side the park railway tracks, within the heart of Ferrymead Heritage Park.The beautiful interior space includes a small kitchen prep area available for use.

Coronation Park
This beautiful park is located in the heart of the township and is the perfect place to hold your event, picnic or wedding reception.

Hire: $150p/h (min 3 hours)

Heritage Rose Garden
Our beautiful Heritage Rose Garden set in tranquil surroundings with some roses dating back to the 1890's is available if you wish to have an outdoor function.
