Surreal bookstore in Dujiangyan, China

 

 Designed by X+Living the Zhongshuge Book Store in Chengu, Dujiangyan is the most fascinating book store in the world. The mirrored ceiling and the black tile floors create a stunning cathedral-like space. The design of the space is inspired by the regions history and topography. Visitors can recognize the local "landscape" in the design of the bookcases which represent the famous dam building.  The different floors of the bookstore include a cafe, a childrens area and  another seating area for visitors to relax and to discover all the different books in the store.
