OUR SPACES

Te Mata - Capacity: 20 Boardroom | 20 Classroom | 40 Theatre
Situated above the corner of Hastings and Heretaunga Streets, with stunning views of Te Mata o Rongokako, this is an ideal large boardroom or small meeting space. Its name means "The Face" reflecting its purpose - hui kanohi ki te kanohi or face-to-face meetings.

Tama Tūranga Huata - Capacity: 60 Classroom | 64 Cabaret | 80 Theatre | 120 Cocktail
Adjoining the Laneway, on ground level, this is a flexible space that can be used for everything from small theatre events to conference breakout sessions.

Shakespeare - Capacity: 80 Classroom | 96 Banquet | 150 Cocktail
The Shakespeare is an ideal space for medium-size meetings in any configuration. The room is easily accessible via lift or stairs from Heretaunga Street, and features a separate catering space.

Opera House - Capacity: 105 Classroom | 200 Cocktail | 150 Banquet | 979 Theatre
The Opera House guarantees your guests a memorable experience, surrounded by an opulent Art Nouveau interior of awe-inspiring proportions. It was built in 1915 and is one of the top lyric theatres in Australasia. It can be used as a plenary or for a banquet on stage.

Assembly Ballroom - Capacity: 180 Cabaret | 210 Classroom | 240 Banquet | 450 Cocktail
The Assembly Ballroom combines stunning Edwardian Neo-Baroque architecture and a 5m high ceiling with rigging points for truss and lighting. With a 20m long balcony overlooking Heretaunga St, the Assembly is the complete package.

Functions on Hastings encompasses 660sqm of floor space with ground level access. With rigging systems and utilities designed to make our largest venue a genuine multi-use facility, this space offers modern style and easy accessibility, for large banquets, expos and events.

Cushing Foyer - Capacity: 90 Classroom | 120 Banquet | 200 Theatre | 250 Cocktail
Adjoining both Functions on Hastings and the Opera House, the modern industrial Cushing Foyer can be used in concert with either venue, or as a venue in its own right.
