Meeting rooms in a historic setting

Avebury House is an enchanting example of a grand Victorian home nestled within Avebury Park. Restored by the Christchurch City Council in 1999, Avebury House is now a perfect venue for weddings and other special celebrations, as well as a hub for local community groups and classes.

Avebury House can be hired for the day or part thereof. You can hire the whole house, or as many individual rooms you require.
Whole House - $1,400, whole day (0900 to 0030)
Whole House (half day)- $750, half day (4 hours)
Half house (ground floor) - $700, whole day (0900 to 0030)

One room hire for community groups, non-profit agencies, small businesses: $20/per hour
One room hire for businesses, City council, political parties, private functions: $25/per hour
One room for special community groups, local community support groups: Negotiable

Ground floor (with wheelchair access)
Flesher Room: a large reception/meeting room (4.8 x 6.8 metres) – 25-30 people seated.
Gordon Prince Room:  a large meeting room – 20-25 people seated.
Margaret Deakin Room: currently a well stocked, cosy library for community use, including a  large table seating 8-10.
A large commercial-grade kitchen.
Laundry and Toilet block.

First floor:
Cora Wilding Room: a large room (4.8 x 6.8 metres: same size as Flesher Room on ground floor), suitable for meetings, etc – 25-30 people seated.
Lesley McMillan Room: a small room – 8-10 people.
Glanville Room:  a medium room suitable for meetings – 15-20 people.

Equipment (included in cost):
We can supply 4 large and 6 small trestle tables, an assortment of lace tablecloths, approximately 140 chairs, plus 90 stackable outdoor resin chairs.  We also have whiteboards and an overhead projector and screen.  A range of crockery, cutlery and tumblers for around 60 people is available, but we are unable to supply wine glasses.
Private Functions:
Noise is to be down by 11.30 pm and the House vacated by 00.30 am the following morning. 
Cleaning up and all rubbish disposal is the responsibility of the hirer.

Avebury Park North Lawn is under the jurisdiction of the Christchurch City Council and exclusive use must be booked from the Council offices, telephone 941-8999.
