The Bookstore in Ponsonby

A unique opportunity  to enjoy the ambience of our fabulous second-hand bookstore set in a lovely old villa in the heart of Ponsonby.

Suitable for intimate gatherings of up to approximately 15 people. Great for meetings, birthday parties for bookworms, workshops, and other get togethers. Evenings only.

Seven rooms of books, including one with a large table with seating for eight people. Additional tables can also be set up.

Access to the rear garden area includes paved courtyard, outdoor tables and seating, and some outdoor lighting.

Supply your own food (snacks or dinner) or bring in your own caterer. We have limited kitchen facilities so food needs to be pre-prepared.

Best suited for events with minimal or no alcohol. There is an additional $80 fee for a liquor licence if required or use a liquor licensed caterer (recommended).

Quiet music can be played inside but no music is allowed outside and noise must be kept to a minimum in the back yard out of consideration for our neighbours. We also have a piano you can play.

You are free to browse and purchase books during your event and a ten percent discount is offered on all guest purchases.

Hire fee = $350 + $200 bond (6pm-9:30am).

Discounts available on application for very small groups, shorter times, or multi-night bookings.
