Makara Church & Hall Event Venue

We offer the St Patricks Church and the Makara Hall for hire., separately or together.

Originally built in 1873 by the Catholic diocese, St Patricks is a non-denominational, community owned church. Situated in the farming and lifestyle area of Makara, St Patricks is twenty minutes drive from the centre of Wellington. The Church is listed with the Historic Places Trust and is lovingly maintained by local volunteers.

Next to St Patricks Church, the location and facilities of Makara Hall make it a popular venue for receptions and functions. The hall is available for hire at competitive rates and offers a classic rural atmosphere for all occasions.

St Patricks will seat approximately 100 people. Makara Hall is licensed for a maximum of 130 guests. 

Amenities: bbq area, carpark, dimmer lighting, heat pump, kitchen, outdoor seating, tables and chairs, toilets.

Prices for hire are as follows (inclusive of GST):
• Wedding package 3-day hall: $2,100
(one day setup, one day function, one day clean-up)
• Day + evening function hall: $900
• Day only hall 8am – 6pm: $460
• Half day hall 8am – 12noon or 1pm – 5pm: $230
• Hourly hall hire: $60
• St Patrick’s Church: $300
